To unite, empower, and advance communications professionals in Bangladesh — strengthening their capacity to create credible, human-centred, and evidence-based narratives that drive meaningful development outcomes.
Origins
A Professional Home for Development Communicators
The Bangladesh Communications Professionals Society (BCPS) was born from a shared recognition: communications is not merely a support function in development work — it is a strategic discipline that shapes narratives, influences policy, and drives social change.
A group of seasoned practitioners, academics, and development communicators came together with a simple but ambitious goal — to create a professional home for those who dedicate their careers to telling Bangladesh's development story with integrity, clarity, and impact.
Despite the growing importance of strategic communications in the NGO and development sectors, practitioners often worked in isolation — without formal networks, professional standards, or platforms for collective advocacy. BCPS was established to connect practitioners, elevate professional practice, and strengthen the credibility of development communications nationwide.
From our inaugural gathering of founding members to the launch of capacity building programmes and the Resources Pool, BCPS has grown into a credible institution recognized by partners across the development landscape.
